So this is my first time to publicly blog. I guess I felt the need to acknowledge that.
It's now two days before Christmas and, as usual, I am not feeling what many refer to as "the spirit". I'm actually surprised I even said the word...Christmas that is. I know politically "Happy Holidays" has now become the greeting of choice, which I'm pretty pleased with...not because I'm politically correct, but mainly because I don't have to say the words...Merry Christmas! Bah Hum Bug (times 50). Who's really Merry out there. I know I'm not. HA!...hum bug!
No seriously, I'm not a total Scrooge, just 99.75%. Actually, if I'm being truly honest. I love the holidays. I love the food, the parties, the relentless gift giving. I used to spend $50 just on wrapping paper. But I've recently discovered that in order to reap the full benefits of the festive season you need three important and necessary components: Money, a significant other, and booze. Seeing that this year I only have access to one of these, I'm doomed...potentially drunk, but doomed nonetheless. HA! Have you stopped reading yet?
Of course I'm making comedy out of my begrudging attitude. It really isn't that bad, and that is why I'm writing today...
For me, Christmas is about love, my faith, my family and the wonderful friends I have been blessed with. For these are the things that give me hope, peace and contentment. Without them I would be nothing.
So really, I don't need Christmas...because I get everything I could ever want every single day!
Thanks Santa.

You are a star Andrea! May you have a Merry Christmas (I know Ba hum bug...) with family and loved ones and the many friends that are dear to you. And for the record who says "booze" is a bad thing to have these days as the only definite!!! It holds it's on ;) and always manages to get an A+ on it's purpose. I hope yo are having a great time with the family and safe travels. Let's get together soon... "Happy Holidays". Aspen
Yay for new blogger friends! Happy Festivus dear Andrea.
Glad you've joined the club! I'm a bah humbug kind of person too - love the chance to see family, only buy prezzies when I find the perfect one for whoever, and yeah, no money.
If you're back in Memphis, we need to show this town what trouble is really about - xmas style!
